Expand Hands On Learning & Student Career Pathways

Education is changing. Students are now able to seek a variety of college and career pathways through the addition of vocational programs and job training programs.

If passed, the proposed bond would expand and enhance vocational programs such as culinary, health services, metalworking, construction and graphic arts. If passed, the bond would fund science lab upgrades to North Bay High School and North Bay Middle school, creating opportunities to expand programs such as anatomy, physiology and medical terminology for students pursuing health services or trades careers.

The district estimates that the proposed $48.3 million bond, if passed, would increase the tax rate by .98 cents per $1,000 of assessed value.

In addition, the State of Oregon has awarded the North Bend School District a matching funds grant of $4 million to help fund bond projects. The District would only receive the grant if the proposed bond measure passes.

An independent, citizen-led Bond Oversight Committee will be established to oversee the use of bond funds if the bond passes.
